Hi guys! Great news indeed! We have a new competition for all of you!

This topic is about that new competition in Afterlife. The idea of this competition is for you to figure out what maps the screens are from and where on the map they are captured. A detailed description is made below. Remember you can't share your findings with anyone!

The idea and rules of the competition:

  • Who can participate: Everyone but Ma7riX and Leviathan.
  • You have to choose whether you want to participate in the cod2 OR the cod4 competition as you can't participate in both. This is done to avoid having the same winner for both servers.
  • You need a Steam account to participate. You can download Steam HERE.
  • There are 15 screens to investigate.
  • Not necessarily all maps from the rotations have been used; you might even find more screenshots from the same map! Be warned!
  • Figure out what map the screen is from AND where on the map it is taken.
  • Describe where it is taken on the map so there's no doubt about you actually found the spot. It will be invalid to state "The screenshot is from Burgundy and it was captured on the north side of the map!" You need to be more detailed in your description; if you find yourself having a hard time doing so you can note down the coordinates of the position you have found. Try to position the view so it looks exactly like you captured the screen yourself. Then hit the console tab AND shift at the same time. Type in the console: /viewpos This should give you some numbers and we only need the first 3 coordinates! Example: (-2683 139 -9) 76 We only need the part in bold. 76 is the direction you are looking. The best way would be to provide us with both a description and the coordinates!
  • All screenshots are captured in the accessible area; no screens are from outside the map so you should know all of them.
  • All screens are captured on a local server to avoid the darkness certain maps have, which could change the 'usual' appearance of the surroundings.
  • You can't share your answers with anyone in any way; you can't help anyone participating in this competition. If you do you will be BANNED from the competition be it giving help or receiving help!
  • You must PM the answers for the cod2 server to Leviathan and the answers for the cod4 server to Ma7riX.
  • The competition will run until Sunday the 14th of February at 15:00 hours GMT. That is London time for those who didn't know it.
  • The winner will be the one with the most correct answers; in case more than one have the same amount of answers we will have to randomly pick the winner.
  • Don't despair! Some of the screenshots are a lot easier than others!


Price:

The winners will be announced within this topic when the competition is over, and the reward can be granted straight away.
If you win you will get:
  • Donator status on both servers as well as our forum for one whole month.
  • A Steam game that you choose! We are not going to decide what game you must play! The only rule regarding this is that the maximum price is 5 Euro! You can find a list of games below 5 Euro HERE. Do note that the ones with a purple corner are add-ons for existing games.


The game will be sent to your Steam account as a gift and as soon as you have downloaded the game it will be available for you to play on Steam. While you are at it you might as well want to join our Steam group! You can apply HERE.
