This map is a brand new map to Call of Duty 2, I hope this map gives you a brand new view on Call of Duty 2!.

Size:Medium
Sniper friendly?: Yes! it has a mix of close corner and medium range sniping!
Environment: Desert

This map is not like any map you ever seen in Call of Duty 2! This map has custom fx's and mostly has COD4 xmodels
This is just a taste of mp_hecktic!

The version I am releasing tomorrow does not have COD4 cars/tanks! The version with the COD4 cars and tanks was over 110mb!

The version that is being released tomorrow has cod2 vehicals and other stuff were changed, now the file size is smaller.

Lastly, this is still in BETA and stuff have changed since I taken the pictures!, this map is already finished (I finished it a couple weeks ago but has been going through a private beta!)

I am happy to be releasing this map on my birthday (March 11th, I turned 17 today) and I hope anyone who plays this map has fun on it :D

If I had looked only at the pics, I would have bet it was for CoD4 lol

I just tried out your map on our test server and the only things I noticed were.

1. It's 72mb? it's about x2 the size of the largest map i've ever seen for cod2, is there no way to bring it down or?

2. These bullet holes kinda disappear and reappear afterwards? not sure if it's a problem or not tbh.

Overall it's a very well made map and seems to be well clipped etc.

I will fix the wall issue for the next build

I am trying to find ways to lower the file size but what I can do is seperate the map file from the images.
So there will be two iwds.
One will be around 15 mb mp_hecktic
one will be around 55 mb mp_hecktic_images

If you reduce some of the detail/prefabs it will make it at least 20mb less :D

The d3dbsp is only 12 mb.

I cant really lower the d3dbsp anymore, I tried all I can.

It has to do more on the images, I can slowly start replacing some COD4 models with COD2 models and remove the images associated with the xmodels.

Like the canopys I can replace,bookshelfs etc.

This is an epic, really, really epic map. I tested it with dog yesterday, but still we do not know if we can make people bear 72mb for one map. :'D
